Take care of pets in the cold! Be aware of your pet’s tolerance for cold weather, and adjust accordingly. Cold temperature can cause serious harm and even death. Fur coats don’t keep them safe from every weather condition. If your dog is regularly outside for a significant amount of time, keep in mind that the Bourbon County Ordinance states that dogs are required to have “adequate shelter” and “protection from the weather” in these conditions. The Paris Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) is partnering with the Bourbon County Library to present a series of FREE monthly seminars on pet ownership.  The series, entitled “Pets 101,” is designed to educate adults and children alike on the proper care of family pets and to instill a loving respect for all animals. The presentations will focus on responsible pet ownership, animal training, bite prevention, pet overpopulation, the necessity of spay/neutering, and animal abuse awareness.
