PAWS Partners with Finding Rover!
We are very excited to announce our brand new partnership and integration with Finding Rover. Finding Rover is an app that uses Facial Recognition to help reunite lost dogs with their owners. Finding Rover enables people to search for their lost dog within our shelter simply by using the Finding Rover app. Additionally, people looking to adopt new dogs can see dogs available at our shelter. As part of this effort, every dog that leaves our shelter will automatically be signed-up within Finding Rover. If that dog ever gets lost, their record will already be in the system, and using Finding Rover’s facial recognition searchRead More →

Sayre Middle School Rocks for PAWS
PAWS Director Robin Vincent and PAWS Supporter Sue Woodford were invited to Sayre Middle School on May 5th to accept a significant monetary donation in honor of our shelter. Sayre 6th, 7th and 8th grade students annually participate in a school fundraiser to support a particular humane society. They call it H.S.E.—Humane Society Extravaganza. In 2015 they chose to direct their extraordinary efforts toward the Paris Animal Welfare Society. Robin and Sue gratefully accepted their kind gift and took along a sweet, energetic PAWS puppy named Miss Pickles to thank the students in person. Miss Pickles delighted all and reveled in all the attention! Read More →

It’s COLD Outside
Take care of pets in the cold! Be aware of your pet’s tolerance for cold weather, and adjust accordingly. Cold temperature can cause serious harm and even death. Fur coats don’t keep them safe from every weather condition. If your dog is regularly outside for a significant amount of time, keep in mind that the Bourbon County Ordinance states that dogs are required to have “adequate shelter” and “protection from the weather” in these conditions. This means that Animal Control may impound your dog if it is subject to any condition that is likely to result in harm to the animal. PAWS encourages all pet owners toRead More →
