Thank you for choosing adoption! Whether you’re looking for your very first cat or the next dog for the family, we have many animals and can’t wait to match you! We are open by appointment at our shelter location and are available every day at PetSmart in Hamburg in Lexington!
How to Adopt
All of our available pets are shown on Adopt-a-Pet or on our Facebook and Instagram pages. If you don’t see someone that fits your lifestyle, or have seen a lost/found pet on social media we haven’t posted yet, keep checking back in. Each year we take in 1,500-1,700 animals a year and we are bound to find someone just for you!

Once you have found the animal you are interested in, submit your application! Adoptions are first come, first serve for most pets. Adoption applications are reviewed quickly, often the same day! Providing the animal is ready to leave the facility (spayed/neutered, chipped, and vaccinated), someone from our team will contact you if approved. Applications should be filled out entirely, including a driver’s license number. We are unable to process applications without the required information. If you would prefer to submit your application in person, we have PDF formats available to download and print!
