LINK TO SIGN UP WILL BE AVAILABLE FEBRUARY 1ST AT 12AM.

Effective JANUARY 2026: To better serve our community, all spay and neuter appointments require a $10 deposit. Requiring a deposit is to ensure that we are better utilizing resources and to help those requesting appointments by decreasing no-shows and late cancellations. In order to receive a refund on the deposit, a cancellation of at least a 72-hour notice is required, otherwise the deposit will be non-refundable and a donation.

Our new software is new to us too — so please be patient as we navigate this change. We are hopeful this will make it a smoother transition and allow the community to:

  • Book appointments online
  • Choose packages and services ahead of time
  • Sign your consent forms and provide any proof of vaccines — to streamline the process!
  • Pre-pay for the entire appointment (not required unless noted otherwise)
  • Receive reminders, post-op instructions, and vaccine records all electronically!
Changes to service requests are able to be made at drop-off.

Pricing is based on county residence due to grant funding requirements. If you are out-of-county (not Bourbon or Nicholas resident) and need additional low-cost, please reach out to your local humane society or veterinary clinic for resources.

Ear tip pricing requires an eartip (small surgical removal of the top of the left ear) and is MANDATORY in order to receive the ear-tip price. If you do not want your cat ear tipped, please choose the correct package.

All services include spay/neuter, rabies and distemper vaccines, injectable pain medication, and a microchip* unless current proof of vaccines from a licensed veterinarian is provided and/or the animal is already chipped at time of drop-off.

*Microchips are not done on cats getting eartips, but can be requested for an additional $5.30.

A valid ID is required at drop off. This is most important if you are a county resident and want resident grant prices. WITHOUT CURRENT PROOF OF RESIDENCY WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER REDUCED FEES.

  • All pets must be at least 8 weeks old and 2 pounds to be fixed at our clinic.
  • Brachycephalic dogs (smooshed faces), overweight, geriatric, or any animal with a health or behavior problem are always recommended to see your full service veterinarian. We reserve the right to refuse any pet at the time of surgery.
  • Regardless of health or behavior, we strongly advise having your pet seen by your veterinarian.

To schedule an appointment PLEASE READ ENTIRELY:

  • Click the link below and choose the correct animal type, weight (overestimate is best if you are unsure!!), and available appointments will pop up.
  • Due to high demand, sometimes there are no appointments shown (especially larger dogs), but new appointments are available weekly and sometimes even sooner with cancellations, so always check back in.
  • If an appointment matching your pet is available, please fill out the required information and be sure to read the agreements.
  • Once you have made it to the check out area, PLEASE choose a PACKAGE. You can also add services.
  • If you want an eartip for your animal, CHECK eartip and choose the outdoor cat package. While your total will not show that discount, we manually add it after scheduling if those items are checked.
  • Deposits of $10 are required. These are non-refundable if a cancellation is not provided at least 72 hours in advance. The deposit is subtracted from your total amount due at the time of service.
  • If you have multiple animals (more than 2 dogs or 4 cats) that you are requesting an appointment together, please reach out as we can try to ensure we can get all of them on the same day.

I’ve made an appointment — now what?

  • Drop off appointment times are typically 9:15am-9:45am (this time is subject to change for offsite clinics at the Fairgrounds) at our shelter location in Paris. We do not accept appointments outside of these times. We will send out a reminder text. Deposits to make an appointment are now REQUIRED. Deposits are nonrefundable unless cancellation requested at least 72-hours in advance of appointment.
  • Please bring a valid ID with you. Payment is is accepted prior to your appointment or at drop-off. We accept either cash or card. There is a $3 card fee. For quicker service when paying with cash, please bring the exact amount. Don’t forget to add on sales tax. *WE DO NOT HAVE CHANGE*
  • Animals will be ready for pickup no later than 3:30pm. We will contact you to let you know when your pet(s) are out of surgery. Animals must be picked up by 3:30pm the SAME day. This time is subject to change and will be communicated at the time of drop-off. Animals not picked up the same day are subject to a minimum charge of $100 and considered abandoned and surrendered if not picked up.
  • Pet owners are encouraged to speak with their primary veterinarian prior to making an appointment to discuss the best course of treatment for their pet. We do not offer pre-anesthetic blood-work and highly recommend any pets with known health issues, brachycephalic pets (smooshed faces, like Pugs, Frenchies, Boxers, Persians), and animals over 7 years old go to your full service veterinary clinic. This service is not meant to replace your regular clinic, but to help those in need of spay/neuter. If you have questions, please contact us.

Morning of to-do for your pets

  •  Please refrain from feeding your pets the morning of surgery. Water is OK. If your pet has eaten before surgery, please let our team know when you arrive. If your pet is a kitten, puppy, or is prone to becoming hypoglycemic, please contact us before your appointment to discuss an alternate feeding protocol.
  • Bring your pet in a secure carrier. Dogs can be on a leash. Cats MUST be in a secure carrier, crate, or trap. Please do not bring cats in boxes, bags, or loose.
  • Don’t forget your valid ID and payment.
  • If your pet is current on it’s vaccinations through a veterinarian, please bring those records with you. Without current proof of vaccines, we are required to update them while they are here for surgery.
  • Microchips are required unless an outdoor cat or the animal is already chipped.

I’ve picked my animal up, what can I do?

  • Read over your post-op instructions you receive when you pickup.
  • Ensure your pet is NOT licking it’s incision. If you see it starting to bother the incision, it needs to wear a cone of shame. We are not responsible for injuries to incisions and do not provide cones, but are happy to put one on your pet if provided at drop-off.
  • Do NOT give your pet any pain medication that isn’t prescribed by a veterinarian.
  • Keep all female animals away from male pets for at least 2 weeks, ideally 4.
  • All pets should remain indoors for at least 24hrs and dogs walked on a leash. Anesthesia can make pets unaware of their surroundings and put them in danger.
  • You can offer food and water a few hours after your pet is awake and alert. Some pets vomit after surgery and this can be normal.
  • No baths for at least 10 days.
